Year 9 Remote Education

A guide to support you when your Year group is required to learn at home.

During the Covid-19 epidemic there may be times when the school will require you to work from home.  It is important that you understand how work will be set during this time and what to expect alongside what is expected of you. This guide will explain the detail of this for you.

In Year 9 all students will follow their individual timetables whilst at home and your own class teachers will set the work for you to do on these days.

You will need to access the work that has been set by going to your Google Classroom.  To log in to Google Classroom you will need to use your school email address and password.  If you have forgotten these please contact school and ask to speak to our IT technicians. Further guidance on logging on to Google Classroom can be found in the following video -

You can complete the work on each day in any order.  Your teachers have been asked to provide you with the work no later than 20:00 the day before, but also no more than 2 days in advance.  We have done this to manage the amount of work that appears on your Stream each day.

In each subject, the first lesson of every week will contain a narrated PowerPoint or video by a Subject specialist along with lots of new knowledge, explanations and models of what will be expected of you.  You will be expected to submit work back to your teacher through Google Classroom so that it can be marked and you can be given feedback.

You also have access to Microsoft Office 365 using your school email address and password.

You can find out more about this in the following video -
