The Salesian Educator
Our Salesian charism flows through our school because it is lived out daily in the relationships between students and their teachers. Don Bosco said that “education is a matter of the heart”, and our Salesian educators are committed to both the academic and pastoral development of all our students.
All our staff commit annually to a ‘Mission Goal’ through which they live out their vocation as Salesian educators in a practical way. When joining the school, new staff receive specific formation on educating in a Salesian way, and key aspects of the Preventive System are revisited with all staff throughout the year.
The cornerstone of the Preventive System is Salesian ‘presence’ - the Salesian educator wastes time with young people, to gain a sense of their world, and to grow in relationships which are rooted in respect, understanding, affection and humour.
