Student Home Testing

The Government recently announced that all secondary and college aged students will be offered tests to make the return to school safer for everyone.

Up to one in three people who have Covid 19 can spread the virus without knowing. This is because they have no symptoms. To reduce the spread of the virus, we need to identify those individuals. We can do this in school by carrying out tests at home twice every week, 3-4 days apart.

Testing at home for students begins after they have received three tests in school. This will start to be rolled out at Thornleigh Salesian College from Friday 19th March 2021.

All students will be given test kits to take part in the testing programme.  Participation in the testing programme is voluntary but we would strongly encourage everyone to take part in order to help keep everyone safe and reduce transmission rates.

Once the test is complete please report all results to the NHS and positive results to school
