Sport
BTEC Level 3 Sport continues to grow in popularity, offering a natural progression from examination studies at Key Stage 4 and is proving to be an accessible course for a wide range of students of various academic backgrounds. Students have been successful in using this qualification to gain entry to the university of their choice or to build a platform to move on to a suitable career pathway. Students sit two exams and complete two assignments across the two years of study, and study the following areas:

- Rules, laws and regulations of individual and team sports
- Examine skills, techniques and tactics
- Develop skills, techniques and tactics

Year 13

- Screening processes for training programming
- Nutritional needs
- Training methods for components of fitness
- Training programme design
- Understand career and job opportunities in the sports industry
- Explore skills to develop a career development action plan
- Undertake recruitment processes leading to a job in the sports industry
- Reflection on recruitment and selection process
