BTEC Level 3 Sport continues to grow in popularity, offering a natural progression from examination studies at Key Stage 4 and is proving to be an accessible course for a wide range of students of various academic backgrounds. Students have been successful in using this qualification to gain entry to the university of their choice or to build a platform to move on to a suitable career pathway. Students sit two exams and complete two assignments across the two years of study, and study the following areas:

  • Nutritional needs
  • Training methods for components of fitness
  • Training programme design
  • Understand career and job opportunities in the sports industry
  • Explore skills to develop a career development action plan
  • Undertake recruitment processes leading to a job in the sports industry
