Our Learning Culture

All of our students are required to have a strong work ethic and commitment to our ethos, standards and code of conduct.  We are not an open access college so students cannot come and go only when they have timetabled lessons.  Students have the resource of many teachers available to support them when they need academic help or when they begin to procrastinate when completing independent study.  None of this can be guaranteed when a student is off site.  We have an intensive but well thought-through assessment system and a series of Pre Public Exams that will prepare students for the real thing.  We treat these as if they were the real examinations but we understand that progress is incremental and cumulative. Entry into Year 13 relies upon relative success in the Year 12 assessments.
