During Language Week, students in Years 7-10 were encouraged to participate in our annual “Communicake” competition.
This involves students baking a cake or a sweet treat which represents a different culture. We had an overwhelming response to this and students baked some delicious goods representing a range of cultures, from Spain, to Mexico, to Egypt. We then held a bake sale at lunchtime where the cakes were sold for 50p per slice. Overall, we raised over £156 which we will use to support our Pensioner’s Christmas Party.
We found it extremely difficult to judge the best bakes but we eventually found three winners for each of the following categories: Design, Taste and Most Popular. Well done and thank you to everyone for your support!
