This year's Open Evening was a huge success and we were delighted to see everyone there!

The evening started with our Headteacher's presentation which took place in our beautiful school Chapel. Then it was on to our very own Thornleigh Art Exhibition, showcasing our students work from all Year groups along with an abundance of food to try from our school caterers in the canteen.

In the STEAM block it was science experiments galore, where visitors could take part in tasks such as freezing roses and watching a rat dissection! In Design Technology there were displays of the brilliant work which students have produced from product design to construction. Visitors got to race miniature cars against each other and play with robots!

In Computer Science visitors were amazed at how you can use bananas as a musical instrument!!!

There were lots of goodies to try in Food Technology and also you were able to decorate your own biscuit!

Over in the Music department, students performed renditions of popular songs to our visitors, playing instruments and singing outstandingly. Visitors got to try out the instruments and even have a sing too if they wanted to! In the Drama theatre, performing Arts students showed what fun they have in a typical lesson and had our visitors mesmorised!

Dare you take an illness ticket over in History and be treated by one of the 'doctors' there with visitors also enjoying games in the Geography department.

Our MFL department staff members looked amazing dressed as a skeleton, a flamenco dancer, a Mexican and a bandit! Visitors had lots of fun playing Spanish based games with them!

Our dance students performed a beautiful routine in the gym and in the sports hall, visitors were able to have a go on the trampolines, play table tennis and much more!

In the RE department visitors were able to enjoy many displays which highlighted the different religions and subjects that our students learn about every day and also take part in games set up by our students.

This only touches on how fun filled our Open Evening was and we hope the visitors who attended were able to get a feel of how special our school really is and how much our school community means to us.
