On Thursday 22 October, the Thornleigh community gathered in the College Chapel for the Welcome and Commissioning Mass at 6pm, celebrating our student leaders for the 2026 -2027 academic year.

In his homily, Fr Steven encouraged the students to make the most of the opportunities entrusted to them, reminding them that leadership is not simply about holding a position, but about serving others and giving back to the school and wider community.

During the Mass, the student leaders were formally commissioned by Fr Saju, alongside Mr Whitehead, while Mr Fitzsimons presented them with their leadership badges. These badges are a visible sign of their commitment, responsibility and willingness to serve the Thornleigh community.

The celebration continued in the Main Hall, where students, families and staff shared in this special occasion. We extend our sincere thanks to all the families who joined us for the Mass and celebration and whose encouragement and support are so important to our young leaders.

As Thornleigh community, we wish all our student leaders every success in their roles. May they lead by example, serve with generosity and help make our community where everyone feels valued, loved and cherished.
