STEAM Visit

This week we welcomed visitors from Salesian school sin Spain and Italy as part of the 2 year STEAM project and we have had a fabulous few days.

8 students from Madrid and 7 from Turin joined our Year 8 STEAM Team in a range of activities. On Tuesday, we spent some time getting to know each other through icebreaker activities and then they joined our students in their lessons. (They were extremely competitive in PE) On Wednesday, they all enjoyed a STEAM day, where the students studied the theme of plastics under our common theme of Our planet, Our future through a series of Science, Technology, Art, Maths and Computer Science lessons. On Thursday we continued the theme by visiting the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester and a Science/Art exhibition at the Lowry. The students have not only thoroughly enjoyed sharing their cultural experiences with one another, but also pizza and mass and they have created new friendships. We cannot wait for our first visit to Spain in March and then Italy in May.
