Trenches Talk
On the 11th and 12th December History students at Thornleigh Salesian College were transported back to the Western Front, when Frontline Living History treated them to a flavour of the past.
Linked to their current GCSE studies of medical treatment of the British Sector on the Western Front, pupils had the opportunity to participate in recreating the Chain of Evacuation, looking at original uniforms and weapons used by soldiers themselves in the First World War. Pupils have also seen original Thomas Splints and gasmasks – all of which helped save the lives of many Tommies in the Great War.
