Students and staff at Thornleigh will today be enjoying celebrating World Book Day.

Students have been set a 'Title Quest' where they have to name as many book titles that staff are reading as they can!

They are also taking part in a three week 'Readathon'. 

It is a sponsored read to raise money for a charity who works with children who are in hospital for a long time. The charity gives the children books and pays for storytellers to read to the children. They do such amazing work. It is a great initiative to get our students back into reading if they have fallen out of the habit.

Readathon has been launched in KS3 English lessons this week. It has already inspired some students to get back into reading.

It has been lovely to see the children focusing on doing something good in the world to help others.
