Enhanced Transition
For students with SEND or those who may benefit from additional support, we provide a carefully planned enhanced transition programme to ensure a smooth and confident start. This includes tailored transition visits, opportunities to meet key staff in advance, personalised information sharing, and close communication with families and primary schools. We work collaboratively with your child's primary school to understand each child’s strengths, needs and aspirations, so that appropriate support is in place from day one. We are committed to creating a nurturing, structured environment where every student feels safe, understood and ready to thrive.
Moving from primary to secondary school can be an exciting time for both the student and parents/guardians. This transition can seem challenging for parents/guardians of students with additional needs, whether they be physical, cognitive, emotional or social.
For students who have additional support packages in place at primary school, all this information will be gathered and shared with the necessary staff. In some cases parent meetings may support our discussions around the needs of your child and how best we can meet these.
During Year 6, we will endeavor to attend all professional meetings, ensuring we build up a knowledge base and relationship with all necessary professional bodies. This allows us to ensure we are in receipt of all the additional information we can use to support your child.
The Inclusion team consists of:
Mrs. Anthony - SENCO
Mrs Pickup - HLTA Lead for Year 7

Important Changes to Bee Network Child Tickets
Tap and Go tap and go contactless payments are being introduced across Bee Network buses and trams for full fare paying adults only.
Child tickets are not available using tap and go. Children can continue to use their current method of payment for travelling to school or leisure (e.g. cash, contactless).
At the same time, we’re making it even easier to pay for child tickets on the Bee Network app.
Single child hopper tickets will be available on the app, alongside a range of other child tickets. It’s the safe, cash-free way to pay for travel.
Here’s our top tips for paying for child fares from 23 March:
- Download the Bee Network app to pay for a range of child tickets. · When paying with contactless always ask the bus driver for a child ticket before tapping your card (to avoid getting charged adult fare).
- Keep your TfGM travel pass (igo card, Our Pass) separate from bank cards when you tap the card reader, to avoid your bank card being charged an adult fare.
As always, your one-stop-shop for travelling to school information is available at www.beenetwork.com/schools
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) provides guidance about school bus services through the Bee Network website. Although buses may be described as a “school service”, this does not always mean they are exclusively for school pupils. Some services may also be used by members of the public.
You can read the full guidance and FAQs on the TfGM Bee Network website here:
