Kind regards, Mr Wilson, Ms Hulme and Ms Ogden A Level Graphics Trip to Salford Quays The students have been tasked with creating a visual campaign that promotes Salford Quays as a vibrant and inspiring destination for art, culture and leisure. This project will take inspiration from our site visit to The Lowry, the surrounding waterfront area and the Camille Walala exhibition. Their goal is to capture the spirit of Salford Quays - its modern architecture, waterfront atmosphere, cultural landmarks and artistic energy - and translate it into a cohesive visual identity for a tourism campaign. Sites we explored: • The Lowry - art gallery, theatre, and architectural icon. • Camille Walala Exhibition - immersive, geometric and colourful installations. • MediaCityUK - modern urban design and digital creativity hub. • The Imperial War Museum North - optional viewpoint for architecture and contrast. • Salford Quays waterfront - bridges, reflections, public spaces and people. Year 12 Art Students Inspired by Visit to The Firs Botanical Grounds At the start of November, our Year 12 Art students had the opportunity to visit The Firs Botanical Grounds at The University of Manchester. The site was full of inspiration for their upcoming art project, offering an abundance of beautiful plant life. During the visit, students gathered first-hand observations and sketches, using their surroundings as the foundation for their creative exploration. These initial studies became the starting point for a series of artworks, reflecting the diversity and natural beauty they experienced at The Firs. The trip provided not only artistic inspiration but also a deeper appreciation of the connection between art and the environment. Well done to all our students for their creativity and enthusiasm throughout the project!
