Winter Newsletter 2025

428 WINTER NEWSLETTER 2025 Festive Update for Year 11 Parents - A Season of Achievement and Celebration! Dear Year 11 Parents and Guardians, As the festive season draws near and the end of the term approaches, we would like to take a moment to reflect on all the hard work, achievements and progress our Year 11 students have made so far this academic year. It has been a period of growth and dedication and we are incredibly proud of the effort they have put into their studies. Key Highlights of the Term PPE’s Year 11 students recently completed their mock exams, marking an important milestone in their journey toward GCSEs. We have been impressed by their focus and commitment and the results will provide valuable insight into areas where they can continue to grow. Subject Focus and Revision Year 11 have shown such dedication to preparing for PPEs, from revision at home to attending additional sessions during form time and P6. We know this hard work will pay off. As we head into the holiday season, it is important that students continue to revise key topics and set personal academic goals for the upcoming term. Teachers will be sharing revision resources and strategies to help students prepare for the final stretch before exams. Well-Being and Support We understand that Year 11 can be a stressful year, and we are committed to supporting our students both academically and emotionally. Our pastoral team is always available for guidance, and we encourage students to take care of their mental and physical health during this busy time. Please revise but also enjoy spending time with your family and friends during this very welcome break...! GCSE Exam Information In the new year, we will provide further updates on the exam schedule, including any changes or specific requirements for individual subjects. Events A number of our Year 11 students took part in the school production of ‘The Addams Family’ which was a resounding success. They worked tirelessly in rehearsals to ensure this show was the best yet, we are all very impressed by and proud of their efforts. Students across school participated in a number of events across Mission Week - particularly important this year as Thornleigh celebrates 100 Years of the Salesian mission in Bolton. A number of speakers from foundations such as, ‘A Million Minutes’ and the ‘Anthony Walker Foundation’ delivered important messages and the week was rounded off with a Silent Disco. Student’s conduct was exemplary throughout and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their positive engagement. They were a credit to the school and to their families. Seasonal Well-Wishes As we approach the holiday season, we would like to extend our warmest wishes to all of our Year 11 families. May this festive period be filled with joy, relaxation and precious moments together. We hope that students return to school feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the challenges of the term ahead.
