Winter Newsletter 2025

426 WINTER NEWSLETTER 2025 YEARTEAMNEWS A Fantastic First Term for Year 10! As we wrap up the first term of Year 10, we couldn’t be more thrilled with how engaged and focused our students have been as they embark on their Key Stage 4 journey. It’s been a term full of energy, hard work, and exciting experiences - and there’s still so much more to come! Celebrating Our Talents This term, we had the pleasure of witnessing the incredible talents of our Year 10 students on full display. From dazzling performances in the school’s annual production of The Addams Family, performances at the Rock, Pop and Musical Theatre Night to representing the school at Disneyland Paris as part of the All-Age Group Halloween Spooktacular, our students have truly shown what they are capable of. These experiences not only showcase their talent but also their growing confidence and teamwork. Supporting a Great Cause We’re also incredibly proud of how our Year 10 students have come together to support their community. Recently, students participated in Own Clothes Day, where they donated items that represented our year group colour - red. We’re grateful for your generous donations, which have helped raise much needed funds for local causes. Your ongoing support means so much! Making a Difference: Fundraising for Urban Outreach Right now, our Year 10 forms are working hard to raise money for Urban Outreach, a Bolton-based Christian charity that provides essential services to some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Each form has been set a fundraising target of £20 - thank you for encouraging your child to take part in this important initiative! Year 10 Leadership Team We are excited to introduce our Year 10 Leadership Team, a group of students who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, initiative and a passion for making a positive impact within our school community. These students were carefully selected for their ability to represent their peers, lead by example, and actively contribute to shaping student life at the school. We would also like to acknowledge and praise all the Year 10 students who applied for these leadership roles. Although they were not selected, their applications showed real commitment to school life and student voice, and we encourage them to continue sharing their ideas and contributing in other ways. The leadership team plays a vital role in ensuring that our students’ opinions are heard and valued, helping to create a school environment where everyone’s voice counts Looking Ahead As we approach the festive season, we have had some exciting events. Our Christmas Fair on Saturday December 6th was a wonderful opportunity to kick off the holiday season with family fun. Also at our annual Pensioners’ Party, our students had the chance to give back to our local senior community in a very special way. Work Experience Year 10 students will have the exciting opportunity to take part in work experience week later in the year (week beginning Monday 29th June 2026). This experience is an invaluable part of their educational journey, offering them the chance to gain hands-on insight into the world of work, develop key skills such as communication, problem-solving and teamwork, alongside exploring potential career paths. Finding and securing their own placements is a vital part of the process, as it encourages students to take initiative, responsibility and ownership of their future. We encourage all Year 10 students to be reaching out to potential placements and make the most of this opportunity to gain realworld experience and enhance their career prospects. Thank you for supporting our young people in this process.
