428 SUMMER NEWSLETTER 2025 DANCE Rhythm is a Dancer ‘Rhythm Is a Dancer’, Thornleigh’s annual Dance Showcase, took place before the Easter Holidays. Over 100 students from Year 7 to Sixth Form participated in the two-night showcase which was a culmination of all the hard work from the extra curricular programme, Examination Dance classes and KS4 Core dance classes. The students were thrilled to experience performing in front of two sold out audiences and staff couldn’t be prouder of every single student involved! I would like to personally thank all parents and carers for your continued support with our students, from attending rehearsals to buying tickets for our shows. We can’t wait to get started for next year’s showcase already! Mary Poppins Trip Our annual Dance theatre trip also took place during this term. Students from KS4 and current attendees of the KS3 Dance club were invited to come and watch the touring version of Mary Poppins in Manchester. The students and staff had a fantastic time and were singing and dancing along to their favourite Mary Poppins songs. IFDPA Championships - Disneyland Paris Our current Year 9 and 10 students have now begun their preparations for the International Festival of Dance and Performing Arts (IFDPA) held at Disneyland Paris. Students will be attending the competition in early October, but preparations for the Disney parade, competition and showcase are well underway. The results and more images will follow!
