275 SUMMER NEWSLETTER 2025 PHYSICALEDUCATION Boys Football Our boys’ football teams finished the season with silverware from one Year group this year. Our Year 8 boys suffered with absence and injury and lost in the plate semi-final, with our Year 9 boys suffering the same fate in the semi-final of the Year 9 cup, against a St. Joseph’s team that they comprehensively beat in last year’s final. It wasn’t the fairytale ending for our Year 11 boys who were beaten 2-1 in a tight cup final game against Bolton School, in which they took a first-half lead but couldn’t hold on. The game was played in good spirit and 25 degree heat which meant it was a squad effort but it just wasn’t to be. These boys have been excellent in their four seasons at school finishing runnersup in the cup twice and winning two plates - an absolute pleasure to work with. We finish with our Year 10 boys who unfortunately were edged out of the cup by Bolton School on penalties in the first round of the Bolton Cup. This didn’t deter the team who then went unbeaten for the rest of the season and grew in confidence as they progressed through each round of the Bolton Plate, eventually coming out 6-1 winners in the plate final with a superb display of football in ultra-windy conditions against a resilient Ladybridge team. DANCE Albert Halls Primary and Secondary Dance Showcases Students from KS3 Dance club, Upper school Dance and our Year 11 BTEC Dance cohort hosted - in collaboration with Mrs O’Hare at Bolton School Games - the annual primary and secondary dance showcase evenings at Albert Halls. As always, this is a brilliant opportunity for students to showcase their hard work and celebrate their passion with primary and secondary schools across Bolton. Follow us @tsc_pedance
