9 SUMMER NEWSLETTER 2022 INSTRUMENTAL AND VOCAL LESSONS AT THORNLEIGH SALESIAN COLLEGE BOLTON REFUGEE EVENT GORTON MONASTERY The school choir were invited to perform at the annual RE Teacher’s Conference at the stunning Gorton Monastery, where we performed several songs and then led the musical liturgy. It was a very hot day but students were extremely professional! One of our Year 10 GCSE Music bands performed at the Bolton Refugee Event at Victoria Halls as part of an ‘entertainment day’ for refugees and asylum seekers. Students performed a 20 minute acoustic set and stayed to eat, chat and even dance with others! BEAUTY AND THE BEAST ‘VOICE IN ACTION’ CONCERT The choir performed at the ‘Voice In Action’ concert at Blackburn Cathedral along with others schools in the Bolton/Blackburn area. They sang two songs as well as two massed items along with an orchestra. It was a great experience for all involved! Our February 2023 school musical production will be Beauty and The Beast Jr! We h ave been auditioning students this term and the cast will be announced soon, ready to start rehearsals in September.
