8412 SUMMER NEWSLETTER 2022 DESIGN TECHNOLOGY Follow us @tsc_dt DESIGN TECHNOLOGY KS3 Through out the year the pupils rotate within a Technology carousel. Thos e that were in Home Technology have now moved into Design Technology. As always we are astounded with the quality of work of which our students continue to produce. Fro m their initial research on past or present designers to their development of the Design ideas. Wit hin Thornleigh the coursework always goes through the process of continuous refinement and improvements. Within Year 9 this term we have introduced three new projects: • M emphis Clocks • Memory Box • F orces - this is where we incorporate F = M x A and develop new innovative bridge designs. Pupils have been focusing on the presentation of their work and how to colour blend . One of the projects in KS3 is the Electronic Steady Hand Game. Pupils will gain knowledge and understanding of electronic components and the systems approach. Looking at Inputs / Processes and Outputs. A s you can see from all the designs we allow the pupils to run wild with their background design.
