48 SPRING NEWSLETTER 2022 CHAPLAINCY Follow us @tsc_chaplaincy FEAST OF SAINT JOHN BOSCO The feast of Saint John was celebrated on 31st January even in the midst of Covid restrictions. The feast day had a number of planned events and activities, which were all inspired by St John Bosco, his work with young people and continue to inspire millions of people across the world. On this day the key aspect was to know more about the saint and rich values he has left us to build a school community based on the Oratorian heart. The day began with a staff mass at 8:00am in the chapel. We had an online assembly which included prayers, messages, reflections, hymns and the story of St John Bosco. We ended the day with form quizzes, activities and treats. SAVIO HOUSE RETREAT We were delighted that more students have had the opportunity to visit Savio House this term. An amazing group of Year 8 students participated in a three day retreat. They had a wonderful time - “It was a very enjoyable experience and I made new friends” - Lois D. “I made new friends in Year 8 and it was enjoyable” - John B. “It was fun learning new things and meeting new people” - Madison. “The Savio trip was fantastic and I made loads of new friends and had fun” - Alfie. A bi g thank you to all the staff who accompanied students, to the parents and all those who supported the trip. This was a wonderful opportunity for our young people to learn to be ‘good Christians and honest citizens’. The experience has created better friendships, openness and the ability to live with others in different settings.
