519 SPRING NEWSLETTER 2022 UKRAINE APPEAL The last month has seen yet more turbulence with the ongoing war in Ukraine. As a school community we have come together to offer help and support to Ukrainian refugees as the students and staff have collected a number of items together to go to the Poland/Ukraine border. A huge well done to everyone involved as we collected a huge number of essential items for aid workers to distribute and there are continued efforts as a school ongoing as a bake sale is underway to continue supporting in whatever way we can. We w ould like to say thank you to Ali from iDeals UK who provided us at very short notice with 30 boxes free of charge for packing the donations. Thank you so much, we are truly grateful. Staff and students formed a production line to pack all of the donations into age specific boxes for the Ukraine refugees. Th e people of Ukraine are suffering untold privations at this time. Many thousands have fled to the west and to countries such as Poland and other neighbours. Salesians are working on the ground in Ukraine, hosting refugees and looking after vulnerable young people. They are also working to support refugees who have arrived in Poland with little or nothing. We are in solidarity with our Salesian brothers in their work for the displaced and the vulnerable.
