Easter Newsletter 2022
8412 SPRING NEWSLETTER 2022 FOOD TECHNOLOGY Follow us @_HomeTech December saw the first after school cooking club event taking place run by our Student Leaders, with a Christmas theme bake taking place. Amber, Freya, Annabel and Evangeline demonstrated their skills in the kitchen with a range of students from Year 7, 8 and 9 participating in this after school event. The y created a range of shaped biscuits which were then decorated and taken home to share with their families, next year we hope that the club can make treats for the pensioners party once again. COOKING CLUB A BUSY TERM AHEAD! Th e Student Leaders will be holding other themed events across the school year. Th ey have plans to get a ‘Master Chef Style’ staff v student competition started in the summer term. T he Year 10 Hospitality and Catering class have been busy improving their baking skills this term with a range of products fit for the Great British bake-off including Fruit flapjacks, Chocolate orange scones and Valentine’s crinkle cookies. We hope that once Covid restrictions are reduced that we can visit some local businesses to gain a real ‘hands on’ experience of working in the industry.
